Single mineral lode in Ordovician-age volcanic rocks, limestones, shales, and slates. Runs in a northeast-southwest direction and contains galena and chalcopyrite embedded within an orthoclase gangue.
Mining activity in the area is evident through two partially open levels, along with a deeper adit that is now blocked, located at grid reference SJ 0906 2833.
Wheelpit was installed in 1872 to power a pumping system, but no trace remains today.
