A sprawling complex of mine and cave passages characterizes this site, with historical roots extending back to antiquity. A plan dating back to 1774 provides a comprehensive overview of the majority of the present-day workings. Notably, the mine entrance was excavated during the 1970s by MSG and Earby MRG, adding a modern dimension to the site’s long-standing history.
