A mine with a lengthy but sporadic history, it operated since the 18th century, with records dating back to disputes with Wheal Ruby in 1758. In 1835, it was worked alongside Wheal Ruby by the Wedron Royal Mining Company, and later pumped out in 1855. By 1865, it was part of Garlidna United, but operations ceased due to shareholders’ financial difficulties. Limited success was seen in 1912-1916 when work resumed on a new lode at Garlidna. However, during a visit in February 2011, most of the old infrastructure had been removed, and the area was heavily overgrown. Remaining mine waste consisted mainly of granite mixed with red hematite, with some quartz and occasional malachite with chalcopyrite and pyrite. Later Gardina United Mines.
