Operating from 1820 to 1920, this mine primarily produced copper but also mined tin. Impressive structures such as the 90-inch engine house and 40-inch whim engine house still stand tall at Fortescues shaft. Another notable feature is the stamps engine house located to the south on the ridge called the New stamps. Eventually, it was worked in conjunction with Grenville Utd.
