The pits fall within the area fenced after use for domestic landfill. The Northern parts are within Billinge Plantation but there are no remains apart from the shallow excavations and a few areas of exposed face. The roadway used for access can be seen, and forms part of a footpath. This is known locally as Bobby’s Lane and a few low parts of the boundary wall are hanging on.
Sandstone quarry worked for building stone. Several small pits and an elongated shallow Northern section.
Several RoWs go through the woodland. Used heavily by people on mountain bikes and, more recently, motorbikes.
