Has long but intermittent history, despite being relatively minor in economic terms. It was operational in the 18th century, evidenced by a dispute with Wheal Ruby in 1758. In 1835, it was worked in conjunction with Wheal Ruby by the Wedron Royal Mining Company, and later pumped out in 1855. By 1865, it was known as Garlidna United, but operations ceased due to shareholders’ inability to pay their dues. Additional work was undertaken on a new lode at Garlidna between 1912 and 1916, albeit with little success. During a site visit in February 2011 by B. Millington, it was observed that most of the old buildings had disappeared, with the majority of the tips bulldozed and shafts filled in by a recent landowner. The area is now heavily overgrown with vegetation, although remnants of mine waste consisting mainly of granite impregnated with red hematite, along with quartz and occasional amethyst, were still present. Additionally, rare stones containing malachite with chalcopyrite and pyrite were noted.
