This copper and tin mine was established in the 18th century. Initially, it was combined with Great Dowgas Mine to the east, but around 1820, it began operating independently. In 1835, it incorporated Wheal Hawkins and expanded its operations to a tract of land south of Trewithen farm under the name East Wheal Strawberry. By 1844, it had merged with St Austell Consols. The mine operated via two shafts, East and West Strawberry Shafts, as indicated on the Ordnance Survey map of 1881. The provided grid reference marks the approximate location of the eastern shaft. Operating under the name Wheal Unanimity, the mine produced 1,124 tons of copper ore averaging 6.5% copper content between 1815 and 1828.
