Opencast. East part later as Argus.

Several lodes were mined via opencast methods by the ‘Old Men’, with the easternmost one later transitioned to shaft mining under the name Wh Argus (SW418296). During the period between 1873 and 1875, Wh Argus extracted 20 tons of black tin.
