Castle Rock is a spectacular outcrop of a lode on surface forming a prominent monadnock type feature. Trials and shaft are visible near the rock which marks the western boundary of the Dyfngwm sett. Beyond, the lode splits into a north branch heading towards Esgairgaled and a south branch heading towards Dyfngwm and Pen Dylife, with extensive trials along its length.
