South Tolcarne Mine operated from one shaft, known as Engine Shaft, located approximately 340 yards SSE of Field’s Shaft of Tolcarne Mine. The site is currently heavily covered in grass. Working on three intersecting lodes, South Tolcarne Mine, along with West Condurrow Mine, yielded a total of 320 tons of black tin and 1,300 tons of copper ore with an average grade of 11% between 1858 and 1873.
