Called ‘Waunfawr Granite* Quarry’ in WMS.
Geotopoi link states that it was
served by a siding of the Welsh Highland Railway and there was a large crushing mill, now demolished, close to Waunfawr Station.
BGS shows this as being an intrusion of Ordovician micro-gabbro within the older Padarn Tuffs.
Owned and operated by Dudley Park Quarries Ltd. of Wolverhampton.
In 1994, Gwynedd Council opened a 18 hectare local nature reserve on the site called Parc Dudley.
