Garlidna Mine, along with Wheal Ruby and a smaller outlier named Polangrain to the southeast, operated as Garlidna United in 1865. However, operations ceased just two years later, reportedly due to the shareholders’ inability to meet their financial obligations. Despite this setback, additional work was conducted on a new lode at Garlidna between 1912 and 1916, although it yielded little success.
