Workings along the Pant-y-pydew Vein. The northern perimeter of the Pen-yr-Hemblas chert quarry is still scattered with numerous shafts and spoil mounds.
The Mining Journal of 1858 documents a 45-inch pumping engine operating on the Eastern Shaft with two boilers, along with an 18-inch pumping and winding engine on the sett.
