A line of shafts can be traced east of Grange Farm, running in a north-south direction. The most easterly shafts are associated with the Pantynef Vein. Notable shafts remain in the area, located at SJ 1736 7620, SJ 1736 7616, SJ 1740 7618, SJ 1740 7613, SJ 1743 7617, SJ 1744 7614, and SJ 1742 7608, all positioned east of a woodland area. Additional shafts are located further east of the farm at SJ 1724 7630 and SJ 1727 7624.

In later years, the area was repurposed for limestone quarrying.

Earthwork remains of a quarry incline that connected the Grange and Coetia Butler Quarries with the mining sett. This incline runs slightly southwestward from the farm.

The area surrounding Grange Farm, to the south of Holway Road, was actively mined from the mid-19th century until 1891 by the Speedwell and Grange Mining Companies. The sett worked a cross course the Holloway Vein, with the current site of Grange Farm buildings at SJ 1730 7635 serving as the central hub for the mining operations. Returns for Grange Farm were registered in 1879.
