A prominent groove up Castell Cidwm marks a fault and is probably course of the vein. Flooded pit and spoil heap. The other pit is on a private nature reserve. Cotains fluorite (rare for Snowdonia), magnetite and copper staining. Trials only.

Getting to the mine site is problematic. The only access is from the Llyn Cwellyn side, and this necessitates and ankle breaking bog trot through sodden tummocks. One pit is on access land but the other is in a private ‘nature reserve’.
