Underground boat tours



  • 1962 Dudley Tunnel Branch abandoned by Act of Parilament
  • 1963 Dudley Canal Tunnel Preservation Society formed
  • 1970 DCTPC becomes Dudley Canal Trust - work begins to restore the waterway
  • 1972 50,000 tons of mud an debris removed
  • 1973 Tunnel re-opened
  • 1979 Black Country LIving Museum opened next to Tipton portal
  • 1985 Singing Cavern underground limestone mine opened
