- 1963 Dudley Canal Tunnel Preservation Society formed
- 1970 DCTPC becomes Dudley Canal Trust - work begins to restore the waterway
- 1972 50,000 tons of mud an debris removed
- 1973 Tunnel re-opened
- 1979 Black Country LIving Museum opened next to Tipton portal
- 1985 Singing Cavern underground limestone mine opened
