Copper mine commenced operations in 1845 and ceased production in 1865. It focused on exploiting a singular mineral vein primarily composed of chalcocite and chalcopyrite, alongside minor deposits of pyrite and fluorite. The mine’s depth reportedly reached 115 fathoms. Presently, the only remnant is a sealed shaft located in a field just north of Gimblemill.
