Just west of Carnkie village, this mine operates in granite country rock. Several lodes run through the sett in an eastward direction at about 30 degrees north. The main lodes include No.1 South, No.1 North, No.2 North, New North, and Great North. The only documented production from this mine is 80 tons of black tin between 1847 and 1880, according to H.G. Dines. Initially developed as a stream ground, underground development began in 1846 with the assistance of a waterwheel used to sink a 10-fathom deep shaft. Despite initially yielding 15 tons of tin, water management issues led to the installation of a 30-inch steam engine in 1846, in operation until 1854 when the mine ceased operations. It recommenced in 1873 with a new engine house built to house a 40-inch engine, but ultimately closed for good in 1879. The Engine shaft Engine house is located on private land behind a locked gate.
