Single large shaft and an area of earthworks are still visible to the north of the housing along the main road in Cadole, the once-prominent engine house and other buildings depicted on the OS map have disappeared. Ore extracted from the Mold Mine was transported to Pant-y-buarth for processing.

The Mold Mine sett worked to the east of the Cat Hole sett. Historical records, including the 1st edition Ordnance Survey (OS) map, indicate that the site featured a large engine house and other mining structures. Between 1825 and 1845, an 80-inch pumping engine operated on the “Cathole” shaft, as recorded by Williams (1987).
