The mine site, positioned around 1 km to the north-northwest of Roche village, is identifiable by a well-preserved horizontal engine house and stack, accompanied by aged dumps situated to the east. The stack remains a prominent landmark, easily noticeable when traveling along the A30 trunk road in the vicinity. Historical records indicate that the mine exploited a stanniferous elvan and intersecting lodes. While the site is partially situated within ‘right to roam’ land, recent fencing has raised uncertainty regarding access to the area.
