Est Grid Ref. This mine, situated just south of Wheal Vlow, operated two ENE-trending lodes known as Wheal Creeg North and South Lodes. These lodes were approximately 65 fathoms apart and ran parallel to the Wheal Vlow Lode. While the mine plans indicate that the northern lode was accessed by crosscuts about 80 fathoms south of the Wheal Vlow workings, it is unclear whether the southern lode was developed. There is some discrepancy regarding the mine’s exact location, with differing accounts from Dines and Hamilton Jenkin. Hamilton Jenkin places Wheal Creeg about 400 yards farther south, aligning with Symons’s map of the Chiverton Mining District from 1869. However, these workings, attributed by Dines to Wheal Reen, show shafts on two lodes that are more than 150 yards apart, conflicting with the mine plans mentioned earlier. Due to uncertainties regarding the extent of the Wheal Creeg workings and the area being largely developed into a holiday park, the precise location of the mine cannot be determined.
