Dumps etc. See also: West Wheal Metal.Tin mine located east of Carleen village, which produced a total of 3,700 tons of tin. The area around the engine house, which served as a marker for the site, used to be filled with old mining tunnels, but these have since been secured. The engine house remains in good condition, constructed robustly to house the large 85-inch engine. However, access to the site is on private property, so it’s essential to obtain permission before inspecting it closely.
