Approx grid ref. In 1907 and 1908, exploration activities in the southeastern area near Jericho farm uncovered a lode running in a southeast direction. An adit, or horizontal tunnel, was dug to explore the lode, revealing it for a distance of 17 fathoms. Although some samples of cassiterite, a tin ore, were found, the amount of tin present was insufficient to warrant continued exploration efforts.
