Sometime with Nancekuke. West Wheal Kitty, previously called Wheal Rock, is distinct from Tywarnhayle Mine, the original site for stannite. West Wheal Kitty’s engine house sits prominently atop spoil heaps, overlooking Redruth Road. The preserved building stands on a small rocky outcrop. Nearby are ruins of other structures and chimneys. Mineral samples in the dumps mainly feature pyrite or chalcopyrite in quartz, with other minerals less common.
