  • 1977 Coal drawing ends
  • 1979 Chatterley Whitfield Mining Museum opens offering public underground tours
  • 1986-1993 Flooding and methan levels in nearby Wolstanton Mine meant that underground tours could not continue. With aid of British Coal, a new tour is constructed using shallow workings.
  • 1993 Museum closes
  • early 2000s Chatterley Whitfield Friends Charity formed
