Mining trials in the area appear to have been limited to a single shaft and an adit level driven from near Prestatyn Castle, as noted by Smith in 1921. Although there are no recorded production returns, Burt et al. (1992) document that the site was worked by the Erwfelin Mining Company. Today, the remains of a single shaft, along with associated earthworks, can be identified at SJ 0765 8280.
