The mine consists of three levels, with the provided map reference being for the Low Level. Initially owned by the Beaumonts and later by the Vielle Montagne Zinc Co., the mine was reopened in the 1970s by Mr. E. Richardson. During this time, a small gravity dressing plant was installed. However, the separation of sphalerite and witherite by chemical means proved to be economically unviable, leading to the closure of the operation in 1981.
